"Nativity Angel" By Tiffany
Over the years, our familiar traditional Christmas hymns have expressed the joy and reverence surrounding the birth of infant Jesus: "Angels we have heard on high," "Sing, choirs of angels," "O, come let us adore him."
The Nativity Angel is inspired by Louis Comfort Tiffany's stained glass Nativity masterpiece, which depicts the newborn child and His mother surrounded by a host of angels. With hands joined in prayer, the Nativity Angel captures the solemnity and reverence befitting this unique blessed event.
The sterling silver angel is crafted using the lost wax process exclusively for the United States Historical Society by William deMatteo, Jr. He continues the tradition of his father, chief silversmith at Williamsburg, Virginia for more than 20 years, serving as official silversmith for seven U.S. presidents, the Queen of England, Winston Churchill, and other dignitaries.
Whether you wear "Nativity" as an attractive pendant on a chain, as an elegant pin, or display is as an ornament on the tree at Christmas, your angel will portray the same reverence expressed on the very first Christmas almost 2,000 years ago. And that message is still a reason to rejoice!
Each "Nativity" includes a festive red ribbon and embossed gift box from the United States Historical Society.
