In celebration of the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' first voyage to the New World, the Society has authorized a collection of Quincentenary objects, including The Log of Columbus with Lee Iacocca.

With the New York Council on the Arts, the Society sponsored the composition and presentation of The American Symphony by Morton Gould at the Kennedy Center.
